New job postings for Data Scientists in the US rose by fifty-eight percent, from five hundred eighty four to nine hundred twenty four postings. This followed a sixty seven percent rise in total new job postings across all roles in the US during the same period.
The surge in Data Scientist postings may be driven by several factors. Increased demand for advanced analytics capabilities could be a significant contributor. It is also possible that employers are expanding their data science teams to handle growing datasets. The crawl may also reflect a greater number of Data Scientist roles being advertised.
In the US, Virginia saw the largest number of new Data Scientist job postings with one hundred nine. Other states with notable postings included Michigan with seventy four and California with forty nine. Top employers posting for Data Scientists were Howmet Aerospace, JPMorgan Chase, and Booz Allen Hamilton.

Counts are job postings, not hires, from company career sites that Mogi's crawl found. Compares the 28 days to 2026-10-11 with the 28 days before them. Covers US, all states, all roles. Employers with fewer than five postings in the last eight weeks are grouped together and left out of the rankings. The company details come from the crawl's company profiles, where the crawl has one.
