Backend Engineer Job Postings Rise in Canada

New job postings for Backend Engineers in Canada saw a rise of twenty-two percent in the past week, moving from eighteen before to twenty-two now. This follows a twenty-five percent fall in total new job postings across all roles in Canada over the same period, which dropped from three hundred eighty-five to two hundred eighty-seven.

The increase in Backend Engineer postings may be due to companies actively seeking specialized skills. It could also reflect a shift in hiring priorities within the tech sector in Canada. The change might also be a result of the specific crawl timing capturing a temporary uptick.

For someone applying this month, this rise suggests a potentially more active market for Backend Engineers. It could mean more opportunities are available, but competition may also be higher. Applicants might find employers are looking for specific experience related to the roles posted by Affirm, Citi, and DoorDash Canada, which were the top employers for this role.
