Job postings for Data Scientists in Illinois increased by seventy-one percent over the last 28 days. This change saw postings rise from fourteen to twenty-four. The total number of new job postings for Data Scientists across the US was five hundred eight, a forty nine percent increase from three hundred forty two postings in the preceding 28 day period.
Other states also experienced notable changes. Michigan saw postings for Data Scientists surge by five hundred percent, rising from eleven to sixty six. Ohio also posted a two hundred percent rise in Data Scientist roles, with postings increasing from ten to thirty.
These changes in Illinois may be driven by several factors. It is possible that the top employers in the state, such as Caterpillar Inc., Allergan, and Capital One, are expanding their data science teams. Alternatively, the increase could reflect a broader shift in demand for these skills within the state, or simply be a reflection of a small base number of postings in the prior period.
