Michigan posted a surge in data scientist job openings, with postings rising by four hundred ninety one percent. The state saw sixty five new job postings in the most recent 28-day window, compared to eleven postings in the prior 28-day period. This change represents a rise of four hundred ninety one percent.
Maryland and Illinois also experienced notable increases in data scientist job postings. Maryland saw postings rise by seventy two percent, from eighteen to thirty one. Illinois postings grew by seventy one percent, from fourteen to twenty four.
The surge in Michigan postings may be linked to activity from employers like Howmet Aerospace, which posted fifty three data scientist roles. Ford Global and Booz Allen Hamilton also added postings in the state. The reasons for these shifts are not certain but could reflect employer demand or changes in how job data is reported.
