United States Backend Engineer Job Postings Rise 31 Percent

Backend engineer job postings in the United States saw a rise of thirty-one percent, with 307 new postings in the twenty-eight days leading up to October 19, 2026, compared to 235 in the preceding twenty-eight days. This increase is notable when compared to the overall twenty-eight day change of nineteen percent across all countries. Canada experienced a surge of fifty-eight percent in backend engineer postings.

This change may be attributed to several factors. Employers could be increasing their hiring efforts for backend engineers. It is also likely that the crawl captured more backend engineer job postings in the United States during the recent period than in the prior one.

Within the United States, California accounted for forty-five percent of the backend engineer postings, followed by New York with thirty percent and Texas with twenty-seven percent. India also saw a significant increase in backend engineer postings, with a forty-one percent rise.
