By Kenji Mori, Mogi Research · Oct 28, 2026
California added job postings for software engineers, rising forty percent to six hundred sixty-six in the last twenty-eight days. This follows a period where postings were four hundred seventy-seven. The total number of new software engineer job postings across the US fell sixteen percent.
Texas saw a plunge of sixty-three percent in software engineer job postings, falling from six hundred seventy-five to two hundred fifty-one. New York added job postings, rising two percent to two hundred twenty-seven. Virginia saw postings rise seventy-nine percent.
The rise in California postings may be due to increased demand for specific skills. The fall in Texas could reflect a shift in hiring priorities or a temporary slowdown in recruitment. Changes in New York may be influenced by a variety of factors including industry growth or regional economic conditions.
