IoT Embedded Hardware/ Software Engineer

Apptricity is looking for an Embedded Hardware/Software Superstar to work as a member of our growing team in the Internet of Things (IOT). Working as part of the engineering team, you will be responsible for embedded software development on a variety of platforms in the IOT space. You will also be responsible for hardware design and the development of new platforms as well as improving current platforms. Your creativity and innovation are the key. This position requires a self-motivated, dynamic individual with strong technical and communication skills. We are looking for someone who takes initiative to find new and improved ways to get things done, is action oriented and achieves results.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, Build and Maintain Embedded Systems for the Internet of Things (IOT)
• Create new hardware platforms and associated products
• Diagnose and correct issues with current hardware platforms and associate embedded software and cloud connectivity
• Create Radio beacons for IOT
• Innovate new technologies and uses for IOT
• Perform system level integration and testing with backend cloud systems
• Translate user requirements to design requirements
• Specify parts, suppliers and costs
• Act as project lead as required
Required Skills and Experience:
• MS, M-Eng., PhD or D-Eng. in Electrical Engineering
• 5 years of overall experience with an Master Degree and relevant research experience or 1-2 years with a Doctoral Degree and relevant research
• Graduate level GPA of at least 3.5
• Digital and Analog Design expertise.
• Circuits and Schematics.
• Excellent with radio technologies (RF). Modem experience a plus.
• Expertise in design and integration of Global Positioning Systems
• Strong C++ programming experience in both embedded and non-embedded environments
• Experience with C
• Familiarity with Java
• High level working knowledge of Linux
• Work with FPGAs, Microcontrollers
• PCB Layout experience, Altium or PADS experience a plus
• Expertise with SQL queries
• Cadence
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to creatively solve technical problems within deadlines
