Senior Engineer - Data

Job Description Design and optimize database architectures to ensure high availability, performance, and security Develop and implement middleware solutions that facilitate seamless communication between applications and databases Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications Monitor and troubleshoot database and middleware performance issues, providing timely resolutions Conduct regular database backups, recovery, and maintenance activities to ensure data integrity and availability Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and innovations Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to maintain clear and comprehensive records Person Specification Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Extensive experience with database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and middleware technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka, IBM MQ) Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts Proficiency in scripting languages and automation tools to streamline database and middleware operations Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders Relevant certifications in database management or middleware technologies Experience with cloud-based database solutions and microservices architecture Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
