Senior Java Backend Engineer (m/f)

Job Description
ARHS Group, part of Accenture, is looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer to join one of our client teams in Luxembourg within a European institutional environment.
In this role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of Java-based applications and web portals using Spring Boot. You will work closely with technical and functional teams to deliver reliable backend solutions deployed across on-premises and cloud environments.
THE WORK:
• Develop, maintain, test, and deploy Java and Spring Boot applications, web portals, components, and libraries.

• Design and implement backend services and integrations using REST and SOAP web services.

• Collaborate with team leads, technical leads, business analysts, developers, and testers to understand requirements and ensure consistency across solutions.

• Contribute to automated testing and continuous integration and deployment processes.

• Deploy and monitor applications in on-premises and cloud-based containerized environments.

Onsite at client site: This role requires an onsite presence with our clients and partners to support project delivery and strengthen collaboration.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
• Strong experience in Java 17, preferably Java 21 or higher.

• Solid knowledge of Spring Framework 6.x and Spring Boot 3.x, or higher versions.

• Experience with JPA / Hibernate.

• Knowledge of REST and SOAP web services and asynchronous communication using Kafka.

• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit or TestNG, and mocking frameworks such as Mockito.

• Experience with Maven, Git, CI/CD pipelines (preferably Azure DevOps), and Docker.

• Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.

• Knowledge of authentication and authorization using OIDC / OAuth.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and functional teams.

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
• Experience in full-stack web development using a JavaScript framework, preferably React.
