Supported Employment Job Developers are responsible for working with persons with disabilities (PWD) through a process known as Customized Employment. Prior to placement, individuals are assessed through a “Discovery” process by interning at several work sites and interviewing significant people within their circle of support in order to arrive at a holistic picture about a person’s interest, aptitudes and vocational direction that will lead to a good job match. The SEMP Job developer is responsible for working with a caseload of PWD in order to move them through this process and then place them in competitive jobs.
